Customizing Your Corporate Facebook Box
Many companies today are embracing social networking sites like Facebook to better connect with their customers. In order to maintain a corporate "brand", it is important to be able to customize the account to match corporate marketing guidelines. While not everything within Facebook can be customized, you do have the ability to customize the Facebook box. Here's how!
First you need to hide the Facebook imposed box. To do this, we'll create a box of our own and set its background to white and position it so it covers over the Facebook box. So your code should look something like this:
<div style="position: relative; top: -40px; left: -30px;
background-color: #FFFFFF; z-index: 20;">
YOUR HTML HERE
Inside of that div we can put any of the HTML we want to be displayed on the page. Now you might notice with that the bottom of the Facebook box is still displayed and throws off the whole look you were going for. To cover that up we'll have to use some HTML "trickery" to get something to position over it. So add the following code after what we have above:
<div style="float: left; background-color: #FFFFFF; height: 70px; width:
621px; position: relative; top: -40px; left: -20px;"></div>
This will create a white box that isn't in the flow of the HTML, because it's floated left, but will still display at the bottom of the Facebook box. From there we can make it larger so it covers the rest of the area without pushing the Facebook box longer.
So that's how you hide the Facebook box and personalize your corporate page.
