Now that your website is designed and programmed, we need to direct visitors to it. This is done by adding keywords and refining website text to help the search engines find your site.

Every SEO project has three major components:

• Architecture - The website needs to be built in a way that makes it easy for search engines to understand the content in your website. This involves tasks such as SE friendly URLs, header tags,

• Content - The content on your website needs to be written in a way as to focus on your target keywords. This involves the way that the page titles, meta descriptions, text content, anchor links, page headings, and image tags are written. The more that a search engine can see that your website is a top resource for a particular topic, the higher your site will be on the results list.

Search engines also like to see that you are adding new content. That tells the search engine that this site is active and is a good resource for new information.

• Linking - Search engines also want to see other sites linking to your website. That tells them that your website is relevant. However the "quality" of those links are important. The more inbound links that are coming from websites that relate to your business, the better the results will be. These inbound links can be developed through directories, through press releases, business affiliations, and technical paper submissions.
