Product Planner / Cut Planner Import Utility

This application allows you to import the files generated by Product Planner and Cut Planner and turn them into Work Orders / Customer Orders or Quote Masters / Quotes in Visual Manufacturing.  This enables the use of these industry-specific configurators with the same level of integration that you'd see with the Infor configurator.

Description

The functionality varies depending on whether you have selected to import as a quote or as a work order:

Quote

When importing as a quote, the Product Planner database file is read first and a quote master is created for each unique product ID.  Within these product IDs, any entries where the Part Type is 'CUTPART' a leg will be created using a custom table in Visual that defines the standard operations that occur for that part.  All other part types are treated as materials and are added to the main leg of the quote master.  The Cut Planner output files will be read next and added as materials to the quote masters as well.  Lastly, a new quote is created against this quote master with costs calculated using the newly imported structure.  These costs can be marked up using the markup percent provided.

Work Order

When importing as a work order, the Product Planner database file is read first and a work order is created for each unique product ID.  Within these product IDs, any entries where the Part Type is 'CUTPART' a leg will be created using a custom table in Visual that defines the standard operations that occur for that part.  All other part types are treated as materials and are added to the main leg of the work order.  The Cut Planner output files will be read next and added as materials to the work orders as well.  Lastly, a new customer order is created against this work order with costs calculated using the newly imported structure.
