Mass Material Movement Screen

This custom screen facilitates the process of performing multiple inventory transfers with a single step.  Inventory can be selected (1) manually, (2) by all inventories in a specific location, or (3) based on the material requirements for a part method of manufacturing.

Description

Mass Movement with Manually Selected Inventories

In order to manually specify the inventories to be moved you start by specifying the source and destination locations in the top portion of the window:

Next position your cursor into the Movement Requests grid and manually enter the part ID, qty, and lot ID (if applicable) for each line.  The part ID column is configured to only list parts that currently have inventories in the source location specified above:

Upon selecting a part we will auto-populate the quantity and lot columns with the inventory that exists in the source location:

When all of the desired inventories to move have been specified, press the 'Transfer' button at the bottom of the screen:

At this point each row will be processed and you will be notified upon completion of all inventory movements.  In the event that a transfer fails for some reason you will be notified and the row will remain in the dialog for further processing:

Mass Movement by BOM

If you have a part method of manufacturing defined and want to move all of the required parts automatically you can use the 'Load Parts' section in order to do so.  For example, we have a method of manufacturing defined for a part per the screen shot here:

Back in the Mass Material Movement screen we select the source and destination locations as always.  Next under 'Load Parts' we select 'By BOM', select this method of manufacturing, and press load in order to automatically load these parts into the movement requests grid:

As we encounter situations where (1) a part does not exist in the selected source location or (2) a sufficient quantity of inventory doesn't exist in the selected source location we will alert the user and ask whether they wish to continue:

This scenario will add the available quantity even though it doesn't match the required quantity for the method of manufacturing.

In this scenario the missing part will not be represented in the movement requests grid.

Mass Movements by Source Location

The last option is to move all parts from one location to another.  This is simply facilitated with the 'All In Source Location' option under 'Load Parts'.  Check this option and press the 'Load' button and all inventory for the selected source location will be added to the movement request grid with the quantities defaulted to the full quantity on hand:
